Backing & training of Arabian horses

We back Arabian horses in a calm and respectful way and continue their training under saddle. With more than 30 years of experience, we consciously choose a balanced approach. If desired, we can also traffic-train your Arabian horse for riding outdoors.

From what age can an Arabian horse be backed?
Most Arabians can be backed from 3 to 4 years old, as soon as they are sufficiently developed both physically and mentally.

How do we proceed when backing your Arabian horse?
Based on the horse’s character, temperament, and learning ability, we determine how to quickly build a correct relationship so that the horse can be safely saddled and ridden without risk to horse or rider. We aim for a balanced approach and absolutely avoid “rodeos,” but we also do not spend months on excessive groundwork. Our method is clear, efficient, and respectful of the horse.

What can you expect after your Arabian horse is backed?
Calm mounting and dismounting
Walking, trotting & cantering with a rider
Riding simple figures & going over poles
Optionally traffic-trained for outdoor riding

How long does it take to back your Arabian horse?
Backing usually takes 2 to 3 weeks for a well-mannered Arabian. Further training and traffic training take an additional 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the desired level.
